ET could 'tickle' stars to create galactic internet
say eggheads.

With a ping time of 50 million years and a bandwidth of one bit per 25 days this would be just like using AOL dialup as your ISP.

It does seems like a lot of energy to waste just to send interstellar communications, but I'd like to put it together now with homunculus's post on July 29: Warp Drive Engine Would Travel Faster Than Light? That one used a lot of energy too, namely the conversion of a mass the size of Jupiter to power a space ship. At the time, that seemed excessive, but now we see evidence for at least this much energy actually being released out there... If in fact it originates on purpose, these *Cepheid variables* might better be a byproduct or jumping off point for saucers? Let the Planets Burn!

Oh, I forgot to warn that the link has sound, sturm und drang...

ThinksTwice, AOL dialup was never that fast.
