  • Two things: If you're in a place where you can't openly weep, do NOT click on the JOhnny Cash link. Damn. "Seasons in the Sun" doesn't count asa Canadian song, since it's a (poor) translation of a Jacques Brel song. Happy Canada Day - you folks are the best neighbors in the world.

  • I love Canadaland. The boys are easy and the girls are speccy.
  • Okay, did any of you see the noon-time Canada Day celebrations on CBC? The governor-general reviewed the Guard and the Head Guard with the bearskin hat marched up to the GGeneral and shouted something and right then you could see up close that the Head Guard *had no front teeth*.
  • No. But having a friend who once spent a summer as part of the GGs, I can easily see that being a possibility.
  • Possible reasons for loss of front teeth: 1. "Gnaw through oak tree" initiation rite 2. Lost Ultimate fighting bout with Governor General Michaelle Jean. 3. Removed voluntarily to avoid frightening kids.
