It's some sort of natural disaster epidemic of late.
Thinking of any Iowan Monkeys or their relatives. Let's hope this isn't another New Orleans, eh?

Flickr photos of the flood Flooding stages: Des Moines, Quad Cities. From this Mefi post.

Webcam view of the Iowa River near the University of Iowa campus. I've never seen the water that high. It's not even supposed to crest until next week.
-
Scary, but I guess we'd better get used to it. I wish that all monkeys were dry, safe and well-fed, no matter where they live. Sadly, I know it isn't true.

I'm living in Minneapolis now, but I still have property and a trailer in SW Wisconsin -- I still call it home, and plan to come back there as soon as I can afford to build. I found out a tornado touched down half a mile from my place, knocked down some barns and sheds, no one hurt. But, three towns close to my home were under water this week, including Viola, which looked like this: I've been following it on the vernon county broadcaster website.

Correction. That pic is of LaFarge, but Viola was about the same.
-
I imagine with the Mississippi flooding, Na'leans isn't the happiest place either.
-
And now a quake in Japan. Ack! Far north of Tokyo, though.

As Midwest floods recede, what's being washed into the groundwater?
