When I Was 17, It Was a Very Good Toon Webcomickers draw themselves, as they are today, and when they were 17... contributing so far: Meredith Gran of Octopus Pie, Paul Southworth of Ugly Hill, Jeph Jacques of Questionable Content, Rene Engstrom of Anders Loves Maria and Jeff Zugale of some webcomic I'd never heard of before*. If you have a favorite webcomic, go bug the artist to draw "Me At 17/Me Today".

*...but because he did this, now I have! Smart move. And Zugale's is an autobiographical comic in which he's in the middle of a flashback to his teenage self, so he had it real easy. (Another meme going through webcomic circles right now is "Cinco de Moustache", which explains certain current strips)

  • I actually fell asleep last night to Sinatra singing "A very Good Year." Are we on the same cycle or something?
  • Thanks for this, wendell - good stuff.
  • Not many folks commented here, but I dug this. Even though I was totally unfamiliar with all the cartoonists. Not anymore, though. )))
  • If I could put my thirtysomething brain into my seventeen-year-old-body... Naah. My body was a lemon even back then.
  • I'd sit with you at lunch, TUM. :)
