28 Hours in Jyväskylä
Filmed at locations in and around Jyväskylä, a city in Central Finland. The idea was to show city life in a way that no-one normally experiences it - in time-lapse, often shot from roofs and masts.

It is not working for me. So then I went to Metafilter, and it didn't work for me from there, either. Makes sense, I suppose. It apparently was working well for others, though, as the comments were glowing and the favorites were mounting. Based on those comments, I am giving this post a thumbs-up.

Oh! There is a shorter version on youtube too.

see also.

Time lapse is so old hat, and yet this is...fresh. Thanks!

I have never been to Finland, therefore it does not exist.

Hauntingly beautiful. (((( for gomi!

I have never been to Finland, therefore it does not exist. Now you've done it. You've killed Finland.

Very nice film. Even though it was 840 times faster than real life I didn't have time for the full 16 minute version and watched the 8 minute video on teh YouTubes. Which leads to a related video called "Drunk man falls down in Jyväskylä". From there it's just a click to "Man falls out of moving ambulance" and worse. The problem with YouTube is that it's a spiral of temptation from good to bad to worse. I wonder if, like the seven degrees of Kevin Bacon you are always only seven clicks away from the "Man is accidentally hit in nads with golf club" video.

The problem with YouTube is that it's a spiral of temptation from good to bad to worse. I wonder if, like the seven degrees of Kevin Bacon you are always only seven clicks away from the "Man is accidentally hit in nads with golf club" video. This plus the spiralling suck of comments (well, generally -- there are a few pockets of awesome in mostly technical video posts on yt) perfectly describes everything that is terrible about yewtewb. I swear you could go from a video explaining string theory to "golf club meets nads" in Thinks Twice's proposed seven clicks. Also, welcome, TT. Been meaning to say that for a few days now, as you've caught my notice, fwiw.
