I just followed my old cycle route form south London over Waterloo Bridge and up to SOAS in Russell Square. Still have the old cyclist's problem of ignoring lights and one-way systems :D Parking was unrealistically easy mind.
-
how do i get my car onto the map?
-
Can you see the map? I think you have to click on it once for some reason.
-
That's kind of cute, except I keep crashing into the gutter. Also, I drove down London Wall. Is it an old Roman wall, or was it a wall at all? Curious.
-
Great. Now I'm stuck in traffic, and I have a meeting in 15 minutes.
-
Yes, it was the old Roman wall - ie part of the wall round the original Roman City. There are only a few fragments left, actually none on London Wall, paradoxically, so far as I know. You should be able to switch to anywhere, not just London, incidentally.
-
Why would you want to go anywhere but London?
-
I know, but it was fun.
-
It was fun. But I accidentally got off the road, and couldn't get back on. I think this would be pretty cool for someone who has trouble with maps or a poor sense of direction. They could actually feel which turns would be left or right, etc.
-
You can get onto the railway if there's an intersection with the road. I've tried to cross the Chunnel (enter Church Hougham for a nearby town), but it doesn't seem to work.
-
Correction: You can drive across the Chunnel. It just takes a long time...
-
'Cause you have to keep coming up for air.
-
I just tore through Central Park. A little blinking police car appeared on the screen and took shots at me. This would be fun if it were "real-time" with other "drivers" on the map at the same time.
-
Umm, well, why not just go for a real time drive with real time other drivers...?
-
Gas costs too damned much.
