Good Old Diebold...
ATM crashes; reboots with naught but Windows XP. Gets turned into rudimentary jukebox, security in no way compromised.
Ah, they do like to amuse people. Perhaps they could alter Media Player so it creates a 'visualization' of your political leaning? Or changes colour according to the current vote tallies? (via qwghlm)

Well, at least it's not like they're in charge of anything important.

hey, doesn't australia already have some really neat (and thoroughly tested) electronic voting equipment and secure, verifiable, open source software? 'cause, uh, it might be smart to do some importing prior to november. if diebold's voting machines are as secure as their ATMs, i'm not going to be thrilled come election day. i can see it now... i plug in my voter number, the ballot comes up, and then i'll get an "internet explorer has encountered a runtime error - do you wish to debug?" message. which may or may not happen when trying to click anyone other than bush, 'specially in ohio.

California Attorney General Bill Lockyer said on Tuesday he would sue electronic voting-machine maker Diebold on charges it defrauded the state with false claims about its products.

This one's for you, Larababy.
