The heroic Englishman China will never forget Bravery, determination and sacrifice in war-torn 1940s China.
  • What a shame, to die of tetanus after all that. But it's nice to know he's remembered so fondly.
  • Well, we all die one way or another. But it illustrates that even a small action, a small movement, a small gesture of compassion ripples out and affects others around us, for the good.
  • Interesting article.. although I was all prepared to call you out on a selflink until i realized you probably weren't in china in the 40's.
  • Wonderful story. According to this, George Hogg's work was continued by New Zealander Rewi Alley and the Shandan school exists to this day. Might be a good movie.
  • What an amazing story.
