...when they pry my cold, dead fingers off my clock's pendulum. I refuse to feel old until Win2x is in the dustbin.
  • An odd little project. Odd as well that some of the tasks are not at all obsolete.
  • :) I keep a rotary phone at the house for emergencies. It's black and totally a deskphone. I love that thing. I wonder how long before the phone company stops recognizing the rotary signal? Changing tracks on an eight track tape? Wait, that's called "pushing a button" and that's like the primary daily skill of the entire information society.
  • Sword fighting - ever hear of the SCA??? Uh, sword fighting, not PVC-and-duct-tape fighting.
  • I dispute many things on this list. The AS400's about as obsolete as the internet. It's been rebranded a couple of times, but there are tons of large-scale businesses running '400s, mostly because they're awesome computers. IBM makes a bankload off of them.
  • Sword fighting Still vast swathes of the world where a deftly-wielded machete will ensure your point gets across. Manchester, for example.
  • I'll take 101 Things I Know How to Do for 100, Alex. *goes off to shoo kids off the lawn*
  • I keep a rotary phone at the house for emergencies. It's black and totally a deskphone. I love that thing. I wonder how long before the phone company stops recognizing the rotary signal? Recently, my theater group had to clean out our storeroom/rehearsal space for a long roof-fixing project. We decided to take the opportunity to get rid of a lot of old props we thought we wouldn't use again, so we brought other groups in to see what they could use. The item that was most requested was the olive green rotary phone, which was not a prop but the room's actual phone.
  • TUM, that's cuz theatre rooms got style... Also, HA!
  • ...when they pry my cold, dead fingers off my clock's pendulum. I read that as "when they pry my cold, dead fingers off my cock's pendulum. My first thought was, "Hell, yeah!" My second thought was, "Does my cock have a pendulum?"
  • I'd expect it has two pendula, no?
