A picture has been found of the boy Anne Frank described in her diary as "my one true love."
All pictures of the boy, Peter Schiff, were thought lost (he died in Auschwitz), but a boyhood friend just stepped forward with the photo.

Great looking kid. What a terrible terrible time to have been growing up.

I was actually disappointed that the picture was so small, but I couldn't find a link (in the two minutes I had between chasing a little munchkin around) to find a better one.

The picture posted on the Anne Frank website is a smidgen larger, and slightly more clear than the one posted on yahoo.

So this is who she called "Petel," whose grandparents were very much against the Zionists, who jettisoned their regular meetings so he could meet with Anne. I haven't read her diary in years, but her descriptions come back clearly.
