These guys had their fabber at the Maker Fair this year. It was one of the highlights of my day there. One thing about it is it's way slow. That screw in the article took a week. But an astounding hack! Another similar project, also at the Fair, is the Fab@Home group out of Cornell (http://www.fabathome.org/). Their device uses little syringes that can be filled with any goopy substance. Silicone caulk works well. Cheez-Wiz works too.
