This may be the most awesomest music video evar.

Just now saw it, and it rocked my world. EVERYTHING I LOVE is in here.

  • Nice! Of course it suffers from a lack of monkey, pirate and a non-dancing skeleton.
  • That is exactly the kind of thing that we are going to see on all media if the AMPTP prevails in the Writers' Strike. DON'T LET THIS HAPPEN TO YOU!!! As part of my paid media critiquery, I was required to watch the original unaired pilot of "Cavemen", which, by all objective measurement was 3.2 times worse than what ended up on the air, yet that 6 minutes of heavy muddle schlock and roll was even more agonizing than the 22 minutes of "Cavemen I". The only things missing were (1) a shark to jump, (2) cameo appearances by Chuck Norris and Carrot Top and (3) one cup. That video should be immediately forwarded to the CIA, DFS, NSA and "24" for them to use as a method of torture. The only thing that could have made that piece of detritus more tolerable would have been a disclaimer at the end declaring that all of the actors and musicians WERE harmed in the making of the video. Weezel, I'm going to forward you the bill from the Emergency Room for my visit after I reflexively tried to claw out my eyes AND ears during the final minute of that video. In other words, it sucked.
  • You people have never seen that before? Shame on ALL of you. #2 saw Muse live a couple of weeks ago. He said they sound just as awesome live as they do on their albums. This song is almost permanently stuck in my head of late. Ah-ah-AH, ah-ahah-ah...

  • "I only made it about 20 seconds." Wimp! I made it to 1:45 when the lame-o fight sequence starts. It hurt, but I lived to tell the tale. I don't get it either.
  • Has there ever been a post on Monkeyfilter that has divided the community as dramatically as this one has? Who'd a thought a music video could create such controversy? Is it too early to call for Truth and Reconciliation?
  • Back when it started making the rounds I saw that and was underwhelmed. Later on another board everybody just went nuts over it. I don't quite get it either. It's interesting, well filmed, campy, but... meh. Guess I'm burnt out from wire acts and retro-futurist westworld themes. Btw, the director of that music video is supposedly working on a film adaptation of Neuromancer, last it was heard. As for awesomes-est-est music vid, give me some Gondry, Chemical Bros., Massive Attack, Cunningham, Sigur Ros...

  • Oh, yes, they do. Admittedly in a completely different side of the spectrum to zany stuff like Cydonia (or a personal favorite, Basement Jaxx's 'Where's your head at'), more of epic, very moving vignettes that go perfect with their music.
  • Sigur Ros' Glósóli. Some like it, some think is the best ever, some see disturbing overtones in it, some say it's sentimental tripe. Same with Hoppípolla.
  • Cowboys. Kung Fu. Lasers. Warrior women riding unicorns saving the day. More Lasers. What's not to like?

  • I knew exactly what video this was going to be when I saw this post. Now I will do my internet dance of superiority. Wait a second, the name of the video is on the sidebar. I will now abort my internet dance of superiority. Poor little fetus! Look how it glistens. O, you could have been glorious, little guy.

  • For my money, I find the simplicity of this one, Air's Mer du Japon more awesome-sest. NSFW if your boss doesn't appreciate ballet-inspired choregraphy.
  • Psst, Flagpole, check your link. Also, I played Air while I was in labour with kid #1. We almost named him Sexy Boy, because I couldn't get the damn song out of my head for weeks after.

  • Cibo Matto (or more to the point, Michel Gondry's video interpretation of their song) is pretty awesome, but I've still got a soft spot in my heart for some of the masterpieces from the golden age.
