Reissued German educational charts
that were illustrated in the 1950s and 60s.
via The Presurfer
Look like a Frank Zappa album cover from circa 1971.
-
They're awesome. Something for the wall, indeed. But why "surreal"?
-
Probably because a lot of surrealist cut-up art uses these kinds of images juxtaposed with other stuff. Viz illustrations for 'The Atrocity Exhibition' by J.G.Ballard, and aforementioned Zappa promotional material.
-
Very nice. Reminds me of the Haeckel charts.
-
Great stuff. I wonder if the artist who did this stuff is still around and knows that his charts are geting a second lease of life online?
-
Probly not.
-
Absolutely beautiful.
-
OMG they dismantled an owl.
-
But you can use the diagrams to put it back together!
-
Sufficiently detailed anatomical charts of certain types of marine life almost always look surreal.
-
These are beautiful. Kinda spooky, but the attention to detail is incredible.
