Frederick Wiseman. According to reason.
  • Interesting interview.
  • Thank goodness that this isn't a youtube link, the description is graphic enough. I know it was another age, but it sounds like so much more that the cry 'it violated the privacy of the prisoners', it sounds like today's 'it's not really torture'.
  • Oh! and good post. I'd never heard of this before, thanks.
  • Good to see some more Wiseman films coming out on DVD. Seeing one has been a rare and wonderful experience. I've seen Titicut Follies once, almost 20 years ago in college. Everyone present had to write a statement affirming they were psychology students watching the film for educational purposes, whether or not they actually were. The film still haunts me. Though less "it's not really torture" much more in the banality of evil sense.
