Being one for "figuring out how things are done", he must have set a camera up on a very rigid tripod with someone controlling the shutter, and moved to every single one of those positions, posed, said cheese, and moved on. Then, pieced together the resulting mosaic. I don't want to think about it...

Alternatively, he layered the pictures one on top of the next, and then touched the result. A much simpler procedure.
