Flight of the Bumblebee (YouTube videos ahead.) As God intended. On an electric guitar at 201 bpm. On a 7-string bass. On the accordion. On 8 pianos. On the marimba. Played by Europe. Played (in a manner of speaking) by high school students on a banjo, baritone saxophone, an E flat clarinet and an accordion.
  • *jaw drops at the original played on piano link*
  • Buzz buzz! Kool kollection of klips!
  • y'know, that turns out to be a fine banjo tune!
  • What about Harry James's trumpet version? Classic, that.
  • I have to say -- I didn't watch a single one of these clips all the way through. Good stuff, though. Esp. Europe. God, I miss Arrested Development...
  • I really, really enjoyed these, and that keyboard version made my head spin and my fingers itch. In an odd coincidence, I just saw this.
  • Clips of fancy Links of free Lovely topic No damn bees! *tries doorbell again, just in case*
  • I went to a pretty good music school that counted among its alumni Sam Pilafian, formerly of the Empire Brass. At my graduation he was granted an honorary doctorate and served as the commencement speaker. I don't remember what he said, but I do recall this-- At the end he pulled out a tuba and played: 1. The piccolo part to "Stars and Stripes Forever," and then the only thing that could be even more awesome: 2. "Flight of the Bumblebee..." using only the motherfucking mouthpiece. All lips, no fingers. One of the most impressive things I have ever seen.
  • Monkeyfilter: All lips, no fingers.
  • I've had that tagline spoken to me before, but in a much different context.
