FBI most wanted terrorist caught in Vancouver, B.C.

'Tre Arrow' aka Michael Scarpetti, was wanted for the arson of logging trucks in Oregon. A member of the FBI's #1 domestic terrorist group, he was also a ledge sitting environmental protester, political candidate, alleged criminal mastermind and rumored agent provocateur.

  • That boy really was busy, wasn't he?
  • Nice summary, Scott. I trust that the comments at Indymedia will continue to be entertaining. Also alleged shoplifter, according to the Victoria police.
  • I don't really support "eco-terrorism", but i have to wonder: aren't there more dangerous criminals (murderers, rapists, etc.) that would be more deserving of a "most wanted" designation?
  • Wedge - You , me, and John Q. Public are more concerned about the murderers, rapists, child molesters/abductors. The huge businesses are more concerned about eco-terrorism because of the fiscal impact of said crime. They tend to be able to produce a little more influence on their local politicians then we can. < / end cynicism >
  • Wedge, take a look at the current Top Ten. No ecoterrorists or property terrorists in the bunch. Plenty of murderers and child rapists there. Jim, arson is a capital crime. Tre is allegedly a serial arsonist and conspirator to do same.
  • (ahh - I should say - arson was one of the original capital crimes, is a very serious crime - don't mean even to suggest the headsman's axe for Tre)
  • This explanation from my 'source' at the FBI. Yes, really. Virtually every federal fugitive wanted by the FBI is a 'most wanted'. They are automatically designated that when posted at the FBI's home page instead of just at the regional level. Other factors include propensity for further crimes (a serious factor in this case), crimes against persons (another factor here since the arsons were in populated and some high traffic areas), and a possible national/international flight (obviously here too). So to answer your question every murderer, kidnapper, rapist etc is a 'most wanted' too.
  • Goetter, I have no doubt that he's a criminal. Possibly a dangerous one. I'm certain that his eco-terrorism could have possibly injured/killed people. But I place a higher importance on people who deliberately kill/injure/attempt to injure individuals.
