Drunk RCMP Officers' Rampage What the article doesn't mention is that the internal investigation resulted in the officers choosing their own punishment (acc. to CTV newsnet). That's a bit draconian, if you ask me.

  • Only losing 10 days pay and no criminal record? For multiple assaults and abuse of police power? That's fucked up.

  • fishtick: it's in Soviet Canuckistan. Because it sure as hell can't be Canada. Two cops beat up random strangers, and get docked 10 days pay, and don't lose their job? Nope, it had better not be Canada or I'll go ballistic.
  • But, but the review board asked them what they thought a fitting punishment should be and they knew ten days without pay would definitely teach themselves a lesson. Sloot, are you not familiar with slap on the wrist treatments resulting from RCMP internal investigations? A lot of stories here, for whatever it's worth. I think we need external investigations, yeah?
