Ghana's Kakum Park.
I've been googling around about Kakum National Park. Here are some pretty pictures. Here are more pictures. And here are some facts about plants in the rainforest.
A friend just returned from Ghana, and I got interested. Have any of you been there?

Oh jeez, I fuxxored this entirely, and substituted text links for the two pictures links! Shoot me now. Fourth picture down here is what the second link should be: http://www.travelblog.org/Africa/Ghana/Accra/blog-29903.html, and god knows what the third link was.

Goofyfoot: Fantastic post. The writer is less than enthusiastic about the canopy tour, but I think it would be wonderful, especially if you could be out there with no tourists to drive away any wildlife. I'm sure part of the paucity of animals is that there's too much going on. A night walk would be astounding. As far as your goof* with the links, the PDF of the cultivation is a great read if you go to the end and check out the medicinal uses for these plants. WHY are we letting this stuff get away from us? We should be doing all we can with these valuable natural (public) resources to preserve, research, and utilize them. Instead we allow them to be forgotten, destroyed, or confiscated by drug companies, allowing them to limit the use for their own gains rather than cultivating them for any benefit to the rest of the world. *your goof Get it, goofyfoot? eh? eh? Get it?

Was inspired to try and find out a bit more the other night, but Goofy's pretty well covered what's out there info-wise. I did find a couple of blogs and some more photos though. What a lovely place, and one of only ten skywalks in the world. I'm so ready to be hired to work that GlobeTrotter program.

Blue Horse, your links are wonderful. I copied them (with attribution) to the forum on which my recently Ghanaian-visiting friend and I talk. She's concerned with education in Ghana, so the last link in particular should be of in interest to her.
