Also please note: he's not currently selling online even in Japan. There is a mention on his site that there may be online sales in the next version of the site (but no date has been given). Currently the watches are only available in a store called タバサ (possibly "The Bazaar") in Shimo-kitazawa in Tokyo.

As someone who loves clocks, I must say Mr. Suekichi's work is phenomenal, but I REALLY WANT a Nixie watch, roryk! Much more utilitarian, even though the Steampunk timepieces would definitely cause conversation if not comfort. Let's hear it for wearable art!

So I was in Shimo Kitazawa last Sunday and I found the only shop where the watches can be purchased. They were pretty amazing to look at - but even the store didn't list the prices. And the store smelled too heavily of incense so I had to get out.

So, I think we should hold a referendum on whether the term "Steampunk" should be purged from the culture. Not the aesthetic, mind you, just the term. It's beginning to grate.
