Exhibition of William Heath Robinson cartoons.
Rube Goldberg has been covered here, and has inspired many people to create their own versions for fun and profit. Games have been inspired by him, and games have been used to create virtual Rube Goldberg machines.
But what about the UK's kind-of counterpart, William Heath Robinson? Vital to the war effort in WWI, the name passed into common usage almost immediately. His machines had uses at home, and for dubious security and medical purposes. The Cartoon Museum in London is hosting an exhibition of his works. I must go and get my Meccano out...

Nice one, mute (and how the hell are you?). I loved his illustrations for Professor Branestawm. There are some original Heath Robinsons here, including the obligatory monkey... I am not Chris Beetles.
-
Ah Pleggers, lovely to see you. Yes, all going pretty good, thanks. How am I? Remember when mothninja urged me to visit my friend in LA? Well, I've been back again since then, and now I'm getting my firm to send me over there long term. You might mention romantic involvement, and you would be right. You can deny it all you like, Chris.
-
And if I mention it in the sense of "There is no romantic involvement?" ;-)
-
Then I would get all confused, curse you.
-
I'm already all confused.
-
Congratulations, muteboy!
-
yes, yes, never mind that - look at the cartoons! ;)

Do dogs play poker in England, or is it all whist and faro?
-
I want to know who his first phone call was to!!!
-
TUM....

It must be love. Why else would a man leave Tooting to go and live in Los Angeles?

One soulless hole to another...
