Wireless Taser
- coming soon to a protest near you.
-
Ooh, goody!
-
I have for many years worn a tinfoil suit to protect myself against just such a contingency.
-
BZZZZZZZZZZZZZZT!

On the civilian front, there is also the question of how dangerous such rounds are. Getting hit by XREP is not like getting hit by Taser darts. Rick Smith, Taser's CEO says describes it as "delivering blunt impact similar to other impact rounds" – presumably he means the 'bean bag' nonlethal rounds fired from shotguns. These will bruise and can break ribs and cause other injuries; when Baton Rouge Police Department introduced them in 2005 for use against violent suspects, their press release said that "The bean bag round is designed to cause injuries in order to save lives." This is what we in the computer programming business refer to as an "unmitigated pile of horseshit." Those bean bags can and do kill people, just not as effectively as bullets. And if you're wanting an object to be nonlethal, probably step one would be not firing it from a twelve-gauge shotgun.

What they really need are those stun gun blasters from the first Star Wars that shoot the the little shocky circles out that make women in white dresses trip and fall over. Besides, that's good fetish creation fodder, right there. A bedsheet, two honeybuns, and one of those bad boys and you'd be able to act out a childhood fantasy.
-
And they should build them into cellphones. Then we can all shock each other, because, Bog knows, you was asking for it!
-
It will take somebodies' eye out, or some-such, & then the lawsuits will fly.
-
It's all fun and games until somebody loses an eye.
-
and then you can play pirates.
-
Zap! Ha ha. Arrr.
-
I wonder if the tin-foil hat would provide protection against these nefarious armanents.

Electric Tinfoil Pirates: THe Home Game!

I use an old pea coat that I self insulated with kevlar plates and a blend of chopped up raquetballs and fake garden mulch. pack it tight! and mind any puddles.
-
Fes, we all know you wouldn't be caught dead in such a thing. Zap him!!
-
And they should build them into cellphones. Then we can all shock each other, because, Bog knows, you was asking for it! I don't know about a taser, but dang, those iPhones do everything else! Somebody finally built a better mousetrap! MonkeyFilter: ...that's good fetish creation fodder, right there.
-
Did you cave and get one yet, GranMa?
-
make sure to use the 2 for 1 coupon

I can't wait for the next stage in taser evolution: the two-bladed taser. I'ma be freaking Darth Maul with that. *zzZZZowng zZZZZzoing*
-
Hmm, between this and robots with tasers, it's going to be a brave new world.

A University of Florida student was Tasered and arrested after trying to ask U.S. Senator John Kerry about the 2004 election and other subjects during a campus forum. Phooey! Who needs free speech anyhow?!
-
Booooo! Bad cop! No doughnut! Although from what I read, the guy was asking to be taken down. Not tasered, mind you, but rather taken into custody.
