Hallelujah!
-
I'm proud to be able to call him a colleague. The mood in the newsroom will be so much happier this morning.
-
Finally! Thanks for posting this.
-
Indeed.
-
Awesome.
-
What an ordeal to survive. My heart goes out to Alan and his family and friends. Wonderful news!!
-
MetaNewsFilter, and the very best kind at that. Wonderful and heartening!
-
Finally - poor guy what a horrible experience.
-
Ah, but what a story he will write! Should be very interesting to read.
-
Is this a sort of benign by-product of the Hamas take-over in Gaza?
-
Hip Hooray.
-
darling (heh), I heard it was directly linked to Hamas' takeover.
-
Did he bring the suicide belt out with him? Cause I'm sure he could sell it on EBay for quite a bit. Good news, anyway.
-
excellent news ... meanwhile dangerismymiddlename is taking time out to talk to us from doing cool things for BBC news
-
Awesome (Danger and Alan).

HURRAH FOR ALAN JOHNSTON. So, so glad he came through this in one piece.
-
And thank God for Hamas!
-
wait a second - which side are we on again?
-
When does the book come out?
-
I was so glad to read this story today.
-
From the BBC: He appeared with a cleanly-shaven head, saying one of his first acts after his release was "going to the barbers and getting rid of that just-kidnapped look".
-
That just-kidnapped look is so next year.
-
Fantastic news!

I have spent some time resting in the two days since I was freed, and I have only just switched on my computer. These are the first words that I have written since I was captured four months ago, and I wanted to dedicate them to all those many tens-of-thousands of people who signed the online petition in support of my release. . Bravo.
