Well, that's pretty nifty, right there.
Post GIMP tutorial plz kthx
wow they look really good - but am i right in saying you draw all the dots yourself?
GIMP tutorial: get male, rm clothes, add ropes and chains, insert apple, call it a night.
That's what Mommy used to do to Monday Daddy!
GIMP = Get In My Pillory?
This reminds me a bit of Hyperdither, a freeware OS X util that simulates the old one-bit graphics from the original Mac OS. Kind of fun.
Holy shit that is awesome. I didn't really read everything, but just in glancing at it I can't believe that they take a photo of some guy with thinning hair and a suit and keep tinkering with it until he looks like Abraham Fucking Lincoln! That is so awesome.
You mean I actually have to use my own hands? To hell with that!
It's a cool effect, though I found the posted examples didn't quite match the full-effect of the WSJ style. I might have to give this a go-at when I have some downtime at home.
Lara, haven't you invested in an ocular mouse yet?
*shifts eyes wildly*
Scanlines at right angles on two layers, the top one blended "dodge colour" with the other, will produce a dot matrix. Saves having to bother with the pen tool.
Meh! I did this with my picture, and it didn't even take of 5 pounds, let alone that extra thirtwentfife other weight I had hoped for.
And the zitty young snot next to me said he didn't need more face dots.
I guess this is why we'll never be on the front page of the WSJ.
Why would anyone want to be (mis)taken for a right-wing neo-Friedmannite Bush-administration-apologist anyhow?
For the money, of course.
Also you've got a better chance of scoring with Ann Coulter. Which, whether you think she's attractive or not, that's a story to tell. I mean, seriously, that's party conversation fodder, right there.
They eye mouse made me seasick.
it's a good idea, but still needs a bit of work imho. for reference:
you can see right away how the ^wsj ones are much more rough and 'texturized'... compared w/ the ps tutorial ones, where the crosshatches are barely visible.
Now that Murdoch has acquired Dow Jones, will the page 3 girl in the new WSJ be a photograph or a faux etching?
