13 minutes
(not wasted) with Tom Lehrer. Doesn't include "Poisoning Pigeons in the Park" or "The Masochism Tango" but still a video to cherish - a genius - even makes maths sound like fun.

What a great find! ))) *pines for Vatican Rag*

For you, fish tick: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZhlLqvlM7KA

We were just singing some of his songs in the car the other night. What a treat to find a video! I especially liked the parody of King Gama's song.
-
Yahoo! Thank YOU velvetrabbit for giving me something to look forward to since I can't view this at work. Tom Lehrer RULES. "Bow your head with great respect then, genuflect, genuflect, genuflect."
-
At this very instant I am listening to Tom Lehrer sing "Werner Von Braun"! I can hardly wait to get home so I can watch the clips (my evil corporate overlords block YouTube)
-
Much looking forward to watching later also! Thanks velvetrabbit, fantastic find! "About a maid I'll sing a song, sing rickety-tickety-tin..."
-
And occasional pieces of skin, of skin Occasional pieces of skin.
-
I thought you were talking about this guy, and couldn't figure out why "Tom" didn't sound quite right.
-
Don't nice, smart, talented people just make you want to shoot them?
-
Thanks for the audio portion of that video Reuven!

The "Vatican Rag" thing is brilliant - just what I need after a long, tiring week. It was the gothic songs that attracted me to Tom Lehrer. Songs like "I hold your hand in mine" go well with a book of Charles Addams' cartoons. And the girl from "The Irish Ballad" must be Lottie's grandmother? So I was a bit disappointed when I all I could find was a section of a maths lecture. But what a maths lecture - the man is a treasure! And I'm guessing - just a guess - my maths isn't that hot - everything after 1+1 is hard sums - that he was already in his late 60s at the time of the film - he was looking good?
-
I never heard of Tom Lehrer before this post, but I'm sure this is the post I read around two weeks ago when I first heard of Tom Lehrer and watched the video. Did anyone see me post something tomorrow?
-
We miss you, Tom Lehrer. Come back.
-
Or, at least give us acces to the songs we grew up with. Ine started in the late 50s.

Samples or Lehrer's music. The First several are the ones I heard in about 1957. Less math, more irony. Scroll down.
