Rome Reborn.
Architects, archeologists and computer nerds have spent ten years coming up with a 3D real-time computer simulation of Rome in the time of Constantine, when it was the Greatest City in the Universe. Zigzactly! Ferpectly right!
-
Correction -- "zigzackly". Carry on.

H I S T O R E E S Q U E E ! ! ! The chills up my spine just won't stop! The only thing I think would have improved it is one or two discreetly placed models of people thrown in so the viewer could appreciate the scale. But I can totally see the aesthetic value of not having them. An international team of architects, archaeologists and experts spent 10 years working on a real-time 3D model of the city called Rome Reborn. I guess it's true - the model of Rome wasn't built in a day. I wonder what 10 years works out to in scale days.

This is totally cool, but I want to PLAY WITH IT. I'm imagining Sim City 320 AD, with Sims in togas. That would be AMAZING. Groovy link, Cap'n.
-
I want the Caligula avatar so I can run around in it, virtually.
-
pretty cool stuff.
-
So close to its birthday too.
-
Scary, how the Circus Maximus looks like something we could pack in on a weekend and watch live Survivor action! Yes, TUM, I missed the human scale, also.
-
Or they could have put in a horsie.
-
Two-thousand year old aquaduct feeding the Trevi still working -- until now.
-
But... but... Caligula died like 300 years too early!
