Spectacular Times "Larry Law's renowned series of situationist booklets. Probably the easiest to understand introduction to Situationist thought around."

Thrill to the True Historie & Account of the Pyrate Captain Mission, settle for More of the Shame or brush up on your Revolutionary Self Theory.

  • I am mildly disappointed that "Spectacular Times" isn't the name of an opticians' trade mag. Fine links all.
  • Nice FPP. Good stuff.
  • It was quite a pleasant surprise to find these on line, like coming across a stash of your old punk fanzines. Some of it hasn't aged that well, but he's got a good turn of phrase here and there and provokes quite a bit of thinking.
  • Thank you for this! It is indeed a quality introduction to SI – much better than any other SI source I've attempted to read (Adbusters, La Société du Spectacle, Bureau of Public Secrets) & makes my situation a great deal clearer. In sooth, I was feeling very bad this week – alienated, isolated, alone. And now I don't feel quite so awful. My being in relation to the world feels somehow more concrete and integral. Even if it is a formless integrity for now, I will not go on feeling so isolated. I'm going to evangelize the hell out of this.
  • That's good to hear, vertigo. Can't describe how nice it is to feel that passing this on has helped you feel a bit better. I get the same reading all sorts of things, often quite surprising, like when some classical Chinese poet puts a feeling into words that had nagged you inchoately. I agree it does lift the heart, and it's one of the best reasons for writing I can think of.
