The two Sumatran orangutans at Zoo Atlanta are playing computer games The orangutans use a touch screen built into a tree-like structure that blend in with their zoo habitat. Visitors watch from a video monitor in front of the exhibit.
  • They are already using a touch screen? They are technologically ahead of me!!!
  • Why, send them a link to MonkeyFilter! I'm surprised they didn't post this themselves. Hmmmm, Retank, just WHERE do you live...?
  • Zoo officials hope the exhibit will raise awareness of the rapidly diminishing wild orangutan population, which is on track to completely disappear in the next decade, and potentially provide keys to their survival. . . . "Hopefully we can get the animals to find better sources of food more easily," Albers said. *sighs quietly*
  • So they're playing some video games created specifically for orangutans ... and from the title I sort of thought they'd be playing donkey kong.
  • BlueHorse,, I live in the Atlanta Zoo too, just the next exhibit over,,you know,,with the Baboons!
  • Well, OF COURSE! Give my regards to your family.
