Curious George Yoooooohoooo!?! It's lonely in here. Sundays are pretty quiet. When and where do you monkeys do your Filtering?

Me, I hit the highlights seven days a week from my home computerz. Seems like Mondays are busier than the weekends. Can you think of a reason why this might be?* *everybody left for service at The Holey Reformed Church of the Crabless Primate

  • For me, weekends are pretty busy. Lately it's been moving, but there's always something to be done or somewhere to go, especially now that the weather's so beautiful.
  • I too have noticed the weekend to be quieter. I tend to lurk on the week for lack of time to post/comment and got discouraged from posting on the weekend (when I have more time) for the lack of response. So I lurk. Btw, this "more quiet on the weekend" phenomenon seems to be the norm elsewhere too which leads me to suspect that many workplaces are less productive "inspired" by what happens on the Internet.
  • 24/7 baby! *has no set schedule for anything*
  • I've set my clock to gomi-time too. The hours are long and pay's peanuts, but the incidentals are to die for.
  • Gomi-time is where it's at! especially in the early hours after a couple of glasses of wine on the #mofirc... hint hint
  • OMGomi look at you all, indolent leisure-leeches. I work, work, work, on a Sunday. Teaching never stops.
  • gomi is a web designer and is therefore online at all hours (~_^).
  • I spend the week at college, looking after the kiddies, taking care of the household, trying to keep up with readings, attempting to learn guitar, checking in here when I can. On the weekend I do all the big household jobs that I haven't had time for during the week, and we try to organise one event as a family (like a trip to the safari park or the beach). In my life it's not the weekends that are quiet, it's the evenings when I blob out completely in front of the TV with the laptop.
  • I always thought it was because so many monkeys chime in from work/study terminals. I rather like this gomi-time concept, especially after losing an hour last night. What time is it? It's gomi-time!
  • I mong on here mainly during the week, because it beats work. To be honest, I've better things to do with my weekends than waste time with you bunch of retards. That probably came out a bit wrong...
  • Please note that no special pants are required for gomi-time.
  • *heads over to gomi-time, pantsless* I too am a web developer, so I spend all week on the 'poot. on weekends I am more apt to be out shopping/errands or doing house stuff. I have long noticed that the 'filter is very quiet on weekends....helloooooo? munkeeessss??? :D
  • MF is my homepage. Check the mail, check the filter. Eat lunch in front of the screen. Yes, weather's getting better. Been shoveling all morning--time to clean horse pens, dig garden, rake, hoe, shift the bale, tote the load--ah heck, going to play with horses this afternoon!
  • Who? *squints, blinks*
  • Gomi-time? I wonder what the Gomi-dance looks like; if it involves Hammer pants somehow, I'm for it. Gomi time! doo doodoodoodoo...
  • I usually pop in a few times a day at work - I'm at the computer all day, and I need a periodic quick diversion from the task at hand. Right now, I'm in bed with the laptop (Seduced by technology!)
  • kinky!
  • I usually check in at night or on weekdays. I'm less likely to be online at the weekends during daytime, especially given my toddler's fondness for slapping the keyboard at random while I try to type. Plus, it's both rugby and planting season now.
  • I tend to read MoFi a couple of times a day, morning and evening.
  • Totally depends on how busy I am. Very busy: I'll check in at night. Not so busy: I'll check in several times throughout the day, especially if there's a hot thread I'm interested in. (Read: anything relating to David Hasselhoff.)
  • I usually check during the week at work, also. Lately, work has been so horrible and busy I haven't had time. Been working weekends, too. Miss the monkeys. *sniff*
  • What is this MoFi of which you speak?
  • Depends. Most times I look in once or twice a day, other times about once a week. Lately I've been checking, commenting, and posting, but sometimes I just like to lurk, like a big ol' lurking lurker from Lurkistan.
  • I've noticed the quietness on the weekends too, and I have a theory about it. It's kind of outrageous and preposterous, but I suspect that maybe MoFi is the one online community whose members actually have lives. Real world, meat space lives, you know? It's just a theory and defies common sense, but maybe it's possible.
  • Monkeys miss the Lara too! Stop doing stupid work!
  • I am at my computer off and on during the regular work day Monday through Friday and read and comment when I can. On the weekends, however, I have a lot more free time. I typically make two fpps per weekend. They are typically related to porn and/or owls. I think that tracicle actually has something that automatically deletes these fpps because I seldom see these fpps appear even for a moment. I also think that she has some program that deletes the word " " everytime I type it. Or maybe it is just my imagination. . . .
  • Where's the dining room?
  • MoFi is a Great Escape from more mundane tasks in the workplace for me, and I suspect that the weekend doldrums is a self-feeding monster; one peeks at the sidebar, sees that nothing has changed, and goes back to carving the tofudebeast or sorting Mount Laundry.
  • fish tick, you live near Laundry Mountain too??? we should go hiking together sometime!
  • BEWARE of the SOCK VORTEX!
  • We got to get some new reference points.
  • Meatspace gets in the way, yes.
  • I do all of this on my boss' dime. I check it out between jobs. Check email, check MoFi. A home computer should be forthcoming shortly, and then I'll be into online Carcassonne so deep I'll have forgotten the lot of you. (Except my Larababy, of course. I could never forget my Labababy...)
  • I'm a bit sporadic. During the weekdays I'm checking in throughout the day (work permitting), and occasionally during the late evening hours after the kids have gone to sleep. And as the weekends are usually quite busy for me, I generally only check-in briefly to catch the day's "headlines." I always wondered if there was a completely different weekend crowd with its own set of in-jokes. *writes clueless across forehead*
  • Some days I'm around here all day, napping, checking out the food, annoying the concierge (still waiting on that limo, sloth-boy). Recently I find myself taking long breaks in a place called 'reality' which involves lots of doing the taxes, sucking up to photo editors, betting on the lottery and walking my dog, the King of the Mammals. He can't get into the filter. No opposable thumbs.
  • Yeah, and the ladies' room needs fresh TP.
  • I'll be into online Carcassonne so deep I'll have forgotten the lot of you. (Except my Larababy, of course. I could never forget my Labababy...) A-HEM!!!! *Taps foot / swings rolling pin*
  • Oh, allright. You can come live with us too.
  • Yay! *uses rolling pin to make delicious scones, but not with raisins because that would be disgusting*
  • All week long I'm tethered to a keyboard. I attempt to be productive while resisting the siren's call of MoFi (obviously not very successfully). On weekends I have three-dimensional pursuits and am unable to drag my fingers onto the home keys--they wriggle in protest and run off to play with snow/dirt/plants/critters/projects. Occasionally I might do some research or check the weather, but only under protest. But, come Monday... *pulls up Hammer pants, checks clock, finds it's Gomi-Time, gets Gomi-ing*
  • So THERE you are! I thought so. I always wondered if there was a completely different weekend crowd with its own set of in-jokes. Whooo, yeah!! Loozer.
  • Pffft! "Real life"! You guyyyys! G'wan!
  • gomi is pulling an all-nighter - so it's fun fun fun for the 4 hours!
  • wow, nights are really short in Japan, eh?
  • Yeah, it all happens in the conversion.
  • Lemme tell 'ya, if you happen to be visiting Tokyo, in say, mid-June, and you go for an all-nighter involving all kinds of wild goings-on... you'll be in for quite a surprise when at 4:30 in the morning the sun comes up and wakes your silly ass into reality. Ahhh, the fond memories...
  • I post something every five and a half months, whether I feel like it or not.
  • More!
  • Yay hooray! How do, Fes?
  • Hi all you monkeys. I have been lurking. I went back to work and only have time to check the site a couple of times a week. Bye all you monkeys.
  • I don't read MonkeyFilter. Yes, I post comments, but if you notice, they bear little relation to the ongoing conversation.
  • Hi bratcat!
  • Fes! Bratcat!
  • Gramma can coax all the little ones out.
  • oops
  • god, fes, could you be a little more of a drama queen? maybe some poofs of smoke?
  • A wave of the hand, a swirl of the cape, a flash of light, and it's FEEEEEESS!
