Freedom Rocks One man's campaign to solidify the issue.
  • Meanwhile the Enemy grows boulder and boulder.
  • OUCH! *smacks the Tick Actually, I think it's kind of gneiss.
  • The problem is that too many people take freedom for granite.
  • It's sort of a perfect trifecta of cheesy-ness. A guy named "Bubba" paints crudely rendered army men on a rock in Iowa AND it's got a website with a theme song. Could it possibly be any more horrible/wonderful?
  • How many quartz of paint must be spilled before Amurrika is free?
  • I think about one million, but that's not etched in stone.
  • I thought it was totally igneous, but that's just my sediment showing.
  • for the reasons squidranch quotes, I am dumbstruck.
  • Somebody ought to tell "Bubba" to pebble his politics elsewhere. Speeeeking of Bubba and rocks in the same sentence, I once picked up a fifty pound rock from the side of the road in Oregon, brought it 350 miles back to Idaho, painted it grape purple and scribed the name "Bubba" in gold paint, then put it on the lawn of a friend the day before she came home from a plane trip. It's a much longer story than that, but I'll keep you guessing on the rest.
  • “Hey man, is that Freedom Rock?"
    "Yeah man!"
    "Well, turn it up!”
  • Sorensen paints over the previous years mural with white paint and starts with a black canvas. Oxy-moron, or just the garden variety kind?
  • I'd like to hear more about this purple rock christened "Bubba". Why such a long journey?
  • See, that useter be a perfectly good graffiti rock. What I'd like to do is creep out one night just before the annual repaint and do a picture of Our Lord. What would you do about that, patriot boy?
  • How the fuck did the background music make it past Noscript?
  • /gravels in shame. Good things may come from rocks though.
  • That was very cool indeed - thanks!
  • Y'know, for some reason I got to thinking about this last night - I wonder why this feller doesn't ever paint patriotic scenes NOT involving war. Like, y'know, the first Continental Congress, or the landing of the Mayflower and shit. Just, y'know, wondering.
  • Great link, dx. Tx.
  • TUM, go to the second link and stop yer wondering.
  • Second link?
  • maybe this: http://bubbazartwork.com/ very scary web design, btw. pete, you might want to look at this for tips on "what not to do" wrto visual design.
  • Ooh! Umm . . geez, that's tough . ahhh . . Okay I'm gonna go with el es Queso FTW for the Freedom Rock reference. *flashbulb handshake* Nicely snarked.
  • But where are the Doozers? Where are the Gorgs?
  • The 'Good Things' link TUM. Up a few posts. Wow, roryk. I didn't see that. He's taking this bubba role quite seriously.
