The Danish Poet. The winner of this year's Oscar for animated short. It's cute, funny and colorful. Co-produced by the National Film Board of Canada. Narrated charmingly by Liv Ullmann.
  • 15 minute streaming video warning. But boy, those are some minutes.
  • "Video content not available in the United States." :(
  • I got the same "not available" message, which is ironic, as I am in Canada. I suppose my ISP is in the US, ergo...
  • That page is in some Anti-American pro-Terrorist They-Hate-Our-Way-of-Life-and-Our-Freedoms language. You can see it in English, like it was truly meant to be if you go here: http://www.onf.ca/webextension/oscars/index.php?lg=en But it still says "Video content not available in the United-States" because they support the terrorists.
  • Bin laden: it's cute, funny and colorful.
  • I think it is strange that they present this award as such a major award at the Oscars. No offense to the short folks, it is just that the telecast is centered around celebrities and giant movies. The short awards stand out as no one has even seen these things. Why not give out an award for Best Movie Someone Thought of But Didn't Make? Approximately the same number of viewers would be the familiar with the work.
  • The short awards stand out as no one has even seen these things. Bingo! The anti-wankery portion of the show.
  • A couple years back some site posted all the animated shorts online so for once in my life I actually got to see them all. In fact, it was the only category in which I had seen all the nominees, so I felt very involved and had a favorite to root for. I wish they did that every year. With the live action and documentary shorts too.
  • Okay American monkeys, try this instead!
  • Sweet.
  • Arf! The FPP link no longer works. Your best bet is now the one posted just above squiddy's comment. Sadly, it's low def so it doesn't really do it justice. Snif. Or if you're in Canuckistan, you can tune in to CBC TV on Sunday, they'll be showing it at midnight.
