Meet the inspiration for Yoda... alas, not a monkey.
  • Furry Gollum! Knife-edge between cute and creepy! Since when was Yoda for his "excellent hunting skills"? Run! Aye-ayes are also on the knife-edge. Fingers!
  • The tarsiers remind me very much of Bush Babies, except for the spindly digits and bald tails.
  • Pocket Tarsiers. I'm all in!
  • zzzzzzz.
  • Ah, but what's he like with a light sabre?
  • Tarsier homepage. And a mouse lemur for good measure.
  • Oh oh oh OH! Can't catch breath. Feel like fainting do I. The eyesies! The widdle baby Yoda fingers!! The fuzzy-wuzzy round head!!! THE SQUEEEEEEEEEEE!! Shhhhhhh. Yoda, him sleeping.
  • Holy flippin' eyeballs.
  • Yoda Gremlins
  • They look like tiny speed-freaks. These pages are dedicated to my family, the Tarsier Monkey - The smallest [...] monkey in all the world Lies and slander! Filthy lies! That honor goes to the pygmy marmoset (b/c as xenmate says, tarsiers aren't monkeys). And the smallest non-monkey primate is the two-sneezes-from-extinction pygmy mouse lemur (pygmy even beyond the regular itty-bitty mouse lemur).
  • Oh, you KNOW this one has to be done: MonkeyFilter: They look like tiny speed-freaks.
  • Just how did such a cute, helpless-looking animal has been able to survive out in the wilderness?
  • Pocket Tarsiers, They're brave as they can be They're small but what you get isn't always what you see Something new 'round every corner, action packed with mystery Pocket Tarsier Adventures Pocket Tarsiers, they surely will amuse They'll stand up to a aye-aye but can't see above his shoes They'll build a new contraption you would never think to use Oh No! Look Out! Tazootles!!! It must have blown a fuse There's always an adventure Waiting to be found But they don't always see it coming 'Cause they're so close to the ground Still they'll rise to the occasion Headed straight for victory And they won't stop for anything Unless they pass a bakery Pocket Tarsiers, get ready, here they come So many ways to save the day, they can't decide which one! Though their magic doesn't always work, it's always just as fun Pocket Tarsier Adventures!
  • Yesss... and they'll be even more collectible once they're all extinct. *cackles in avaricious glee*
  • Bravo Darling!
  • Tarsier crania are just amazing: tissue-thin bone and these massive eye sockets. Cool teeth, too. Tarsiers are awesome, but lemurs will always be my favourite primate.
  • Here. I went to Cabrillo and I bet this is the exact skull I got to play with there. It looks like a cast, though. But check out the eyes, and the incisors -- from memory those front teeth are called a dental comb, good for scraping the flesh from fruit. (I hope I remember that right.)
  • Eyes? What eyes? I don't see any eyes.
  • from the mists of time - the pygmy shrew [flash movie, with sound]
  • More prosimian news: in which we learn that Homo sapiens isn't the only African anthropoid with a taste for bushmeat.
  • I. Can't. Look. Away. From. The. Hypno Tarsier.
  • factoid: the inspiration for yoda, iirc, came partly from this guy... einstein/yoda
