1.618: a music video for BT's song of the same name. Exploring the golden ratio in electronic music and computer animation. Free but large download (186MB) [via deviantART.com] Another link here for DivX Web Player.

The stylized flowers at ~9:30 and the "golden" zooms at ~ 5:00 are beautiful. Oddly enough, both the song and the video are the same length...

  • While the imagery might be somewhat of a cliché for electronic music, it is quite striking nonetheless. And it begs to be enjoyed in the highest visual quailty possible; the This Binary Universe album has a DVD with the videos for all tracks, and the varied animation styles, from the cold, geometric perfection of 1.618 to fantastic renderings in The Internal Locus to the organic, sentimental memories of Good Morning Kaia make it all a feast for the mind. My perosnal favorite video of that is The Anitkythera Mechanism.
  • While the imagery might be somewhat of a cliché for electronic music, it is quite striking nonetheless. And it seems appropriate; considering the subject.
  • Although I'm generally not a huge fan of either BT or Electronica, I thought this was really well put together. It takes a ton of hard work to put just one of those tracks together and the results here were very artistic. I guess I may have misunderestimated the guy. The visuals were tres cool too. Thanks for the links.
