I guess that makes it half interesting Canadian start-up demos half of the first commercial quantum computer.
  • The computer itself--which is cooled down to 4 millikelvin (or nearly minus 273.15 degrees Celsius) with liquid helium--was actually in Canada. Attendees only saw the results on a screen. Still, it was the largest demonstration of a quantum computer ever, Rose said. Um.
  • Well of course, silly - it hardly ever gets lower than minus 70 degrees Celsius or so in Mountain View!
  • "Any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from a rigged demo." -- Andy Finkel
  • Get a Mac.
  • From the CNN article:
"[D-Wave Chief Executive Herb Martin] said all the evidence the company has indicates that the device is performing quantum computations, but he acknowledged there is some uncertainty."
  • There's a cat inside the tower.
