Chillis [sic] galore. Here are some pretty pictures of chilis and how hot they are. There are chile facts, growing tips, recipes, and links.

And here's a website that says, "Chilli - also called Chili, chile, chilly, chily, Mirchi, chilli pepper, Aji, Paprika."

  • Here in Texas I've been observing a lot of "jalapeno creep" -- jalapenos creeping into various foods I get at restaurants. It used to piss me off but now I just pick them off and eat a few every now and then. Definitely an acquired taste. I see it's pretty mild on the Scoville scale but they're hot enough for me.
  • I love hot peppers. I make my own serrano pepper jelly ... it'll cure you of anything!
  • Mo' hotta, mo' betta. :::looks forward to growing another crop of habaneros and scotch bonnets this year:::
  • My coworker brought me some habanero peppers from his garden. I touched my face after handling them and it burned like beestings.
  • Those of us who grew up in Buffalo were raised to believe that you should put hot sauce on your Cheerios. I love teh spicy.
  • A chili pepper is good in a mug of hot chocolate (made bitter, no milk, vanilla, a little sugar). One of my evening coffee substitutes. Remove the chili before drinking.
  • Mmh. Mole, a typical mexican dish I've tasted many times, includes among its' many ingredients chocolate and a variety of chiles. But, liquid chocolate and a chili pepper? That's something that bears investigating...
  • I remember the Frugal Gourmet making brownies with chili peppers. Mind you, I'm not 100% convinced that was the only secret ingredient in his brownies...
  • Chili brownies. I've never found those canned green chilis to have much effect, though.
  • The Best Chocolate Place In The World, the Hemingway cafe here in Florence, does a killer dark-chocolate-and-chili cake, and also a hot drink called a Montezuma, which contains not only liquid dark chocolate and chili, but also brandy, rum, cinnamon and some other stuff... mmmmmmm When y'all come to Florence (and you *are* all coming to visit, right?) it's definitely worth trying.
  • Funny, "liquid dark chocolate" and "Montezuma" are often used in the same sentence here in the States, too. But nowhere near as pleasantly.
  • Mothninja lives in Florence?? *seethe* I crave Revenge!
