Lunardi made the first balloon trips in England.
He eclipsed the Great Edinburgh Fire Balloon of James Tytler (though Tytler doesn't seem to have minded: he wrote a poem praising Lunardi). Letitia Sage talked Lunardi into letting her onto one of his trips, becoming the first female British air traveller.
