Garden of Weedin'
Oregon's medical marijuana growers want to win respect, help the sick...and grow the kindest bud on the planet. [via]
"It's like the difference between microbrew and Anheuser-Busch," says one national marijuana-rights activist. "In Oregon, you have individuals or little groups caring for small gardens. The attention to detail creates a better product by far."

I defy anyone bent double over a toilet, head spinning from the effects of chemotherapy, to turn down relief when offered in any form. People should be alarmed at much of the world's continued prohibition towards a plant whose effects have proven many times to be less harmful than those of alcohol, especially when said plant can do literally miraculous things for those whose paths have been darkened by cancer or many of a host of other illnesses. I have sat alongside a suffering friend as he was transformed by a single puff, able to speak, eat, and be a human being again. Illegality in this case only fuels a huge uncontrolled, underground market while denying aid to those too honest, law-abiding, unconnected or ill to procure it on their own.

What kinnakeet said. Also, it's gooooovy, man...
-
thanks for stating that so well kinnakeet. medical marijuana is also of great benefit to those suffering from otherwise untreatable forms of severe depression, and glaucoma. to deny people this therapeutic relief is one of the most uncompassionate things I know.

I'm also in the what kinnakeet said camp. I'm not going to add to those words...

I had a pal who had Hodgkin's disease. If it weren't for the weed plant there, he wouldn't have been able to eat during his treatment.

Medical Marijuana: What's the Point?

On the Blue: An excellent example of the consequences of the Supreme Court's Gonzales v. Raich decision: today the United States House of Representatives voted down a bill which would have prohibited the DEA from targeting State-authorized medical marijuana dispensaries. Almost simultaneously, the DEA raided 10 medical marijuana dispensaries in Los Angeles.
