Perl poetry. Poetry on any subject, written in Perl.
  • I <3 Nerds.
  • I liked this one: #!/usr/bin/perl my $nation; no warnings; goto hell or die 'PHP!!11'; $nation; BEGIN { our $mission and kill if PHP } use constant { Perl, 'Programming', all, time }; require abs Perl and not undef$ined; sub knowledges {}; hell: warn if PHP and not Perl; heaven: do index all, knowledges if not Perl and not try { require PHP if defined }; require Switch and delete $evil{PHP}; Oh_Yes: do { PHP => Perl } for all, time; ref (our $best), knowledges() and listen Perl, power; END { our $mission and return if all }# is done bless [qw/the holy folk of/], Perl for (local $happiness); __END__
  • I have no idea what Perl is. I think that is affecting my ability to enjoy this post. May I suggest banninating the person who made this fpp for not explaining what Perl is?
  • Perl is the same colour as owl semen.
  • smt: Perl is a programming language which is widely used for writing server-side code on websites, among other uses. Its syntax tends to be very flexible and lends itself to expressing programs in many different, sometimes confusing, sometimes amusing ways. One motto of Perl is TIMTOWTDI: There Is More Than One Way To Do It. Perl poetry usually refers to poetry written in Perl which will at least parse, and possibly, but not necessarily, produce a useful result. When this happens its somewhat mind boggling, at least to me. Perl seems much more fun than its rival PHP, at least to me, which I find depressing because I am a PHP programmer (sort of, its one of my job duties, I'm not really an expert). I wish there was a nice document of some sort showing how to do in Perl some of the things that are easy to do in PHP, like manage sessions, a Perl equivalent to Larry Ullman's Perl for the World Wide Web Visual Quickstart Guide. One of my favorite Perl poems is the creepy Black Perl
  • Grrr, meant bernockle, duh.
  • NERRRRRRRRRDS
  • I second the call for bannination. This is too nerdy even for me.
