A periodic table of visualization methods
Hovering over an entry should float an example of that method.
Some more resources, mapping researchers and scholars in different visualization fields.

Nice link - although I am less than impressed with the idea of visually organizing the information into the shape of a periodic table. To me, it shows a lack of understanding of what the periodic table represent "visually". For those that prefer lighter, less opinionated comments, feel free to go to this other periodic table that can be found under the "play in the humor lab" heading (sorry, no direct link).

Handy list, though - you could set up as a management consultant with less than this. In fact I've known several who seem to have done so. I had a boss once who loved his mind maps. They always ended up as sprawling masses of scribble, with inconsistent groupings and elements that appeared in two or three different places. You could feel the understanding draining away as you looked at them; much as would have happened, I imagine, had you mind-melded with him. So maybe that shows they do indeed provide an accurate picture.

Where's "map"? You can view all kinds of data on a map... in fact there's a whole field (GIS) dedicated to it.

Nice link, but made my sleepy brain ache.
