Trolley spotting.
Flickr trollies. Trolley art. Trolley furniture. Injurious trolleys. Homeopathic trolley remedy. Trolley morons.
-
Huh - I thought you meant trolley. That homeopathic link scares me.
-
"Trolley" is one of those words that means different things on either side of the Atlantic. In the UK, I believe that "trolley" refers to "a low cart or truck of various kinds" while in America it simply means "testicle".
-
Everything means testicle in the USA. I've heard the over 70 set here refer to hand-pushed wheeled grocery conveyances as trolleys, but to most others it seems to be a grocery cart. Those sculptures are most impressive!
-
That must have something to do with how full of bollocks we are, most of the time! From Roger's Profanisaurus: papper v. To shit. As in "Oh no, I think I just pappered me trollies (qv)".
-
When will the British learn how to speak English?
-
'Ay, Tarquel, are your trolleys on right way round?
-
I've twice had jobs collecting supermarket trolleys. In the first one, back in 1985, I used to get sent out to collect abandoned trolleys that people reported. I'd also bring a gift from the supermarket for the person who reported the trolley because at the time, they cost over 100 pounds to replace. I wonder how much they cost now. I love the sculptures.
-
I wonder if, given the cost of these trolleys, one might not get in trouble being in possession of one with the store's logo emblazoned across the handle, despite having scooped it out of a pond. *sidelong glances for WalMart constabulary*
