You don't have Mojo Nixon to kick around any more. After twenty years of seeing Elvis everywhere, gonzobilly rocker Mojo Nixon retires.

I salute Mojo for having the decency not to pull a Jagger, withering into some undead mockery of a musician. He's in his high forties, he's burned out... he's retiring. On the other hand, I'm sorry that his goodbye splash page is so negative. "Not only am I empty, but obviously nobody gives a rat's ass [...]" And retiring to be an on-air personality for a classic rock station: o beneficient monkey gods and goddesses, I humbly pray, save me from such a fate in my own dotage. This may well only be of interest to North American monkeys of a certain age. So be it. /codgerfilter

  • I didn't even know he was still around! I remember listening to him and Skid Roper in the mid-80's and couldn't get enough of their humor.
  • Elvis really is everywhere, and so is Mojo. /not a North American
  • Don Henley Must Die Never has there been a greater song title.
  • I once heard Elvis is Everywhere on late night radio (about ten years ago). I had no idea who it was by (nor even the song title, although I could kind of work that one out). After years of fruitless searching on and off I somehow recently stumbled across it somewhere online (without actually meaning to find it). If only I'd had Monkeyfilter ten years ago. (And I still don't know who Mojo Nixon is).
  • If you don't know Mojo Nixon then your store could use some fixiiiiiiin! I remember reading some article where they asked various rock stars what they bought with their first royalty check. Mojo Nixon bought an orange motorcycle with a sidecar, then he took his son to go buy beanie weenies. A class act, all the way around. michael j fox is...the anti-Elvis
  • Morrissey, like an 8 year-old kid whose dog gets run over everyday at 4:30. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH!!!!!
  • Sooooz: That probably means you never heard the Mojo Nixon/Jello Biafra collaboration.
Will the fetus be aborted? By and by Lord, by and by There's a better world a-waitin' In the sky Lord, in the sky
  • Sullivan: I don't know. Stuffin' Martha's Muffin could gain new currency. And how I love Tie My Pecker to My Leg...
  • Debbie Gibson is Pregnant with my Two Headed Love Child is up there in great song titles. I also loved his contributions to the Redneck Rampage game soundtrack.
