Goodsearch.com Yahoo-powered search engine that gives to charity when you search with it. (Via)

I'm currently supporting the Jane Goodall Institute.

  • Yahoo really isn't as good as Google, alas. Trying the same search terms gives me thousands of hits on Google, but none at all in Yahoo. Nonetheless, giving it a try right now. My current charity is Doctors Without Borders.
  • Doesn't it depend on the search terms, though?
  • My nonprofit participates in this, but I did it reluctantly at the request of one of my board members. The problem I have with Goodsearch is the statement they make that "Our goal is to direct 50 percent of revenues"... 50% is a huge cut for them to take, and to state it only as a "goal" raises a red flag for me.
  • Interesting. I do agree with what HuronBob says. Regardless, I gave it a quick try for the hell of it; chose Noah's Wish, and peformed a couple of searches. What I found interesting is that the Charity search total updates real-time (i.e., before I performed my search, Noah's Wish had 66 sponsored searches for December - after my searches, the total was 68).
  • Or you can help the kitties with the Cat Protection League web search. not derailin', just sayin'
  • Does anyone know a good website to check out charities such as this one? And these: The Rainforest site The Literacy Site The Hunger Site The Breast Cancer Site and The Animal Rescue Site ??
