Curious George: Word Play I have a type of word game in mind, but don't know what it's called. Hope me, hive mind.

It looks like this: si(more)de

  • si(more)de Obviously the above reads more inside. paid IM worked I'm underpaid and overworked What do you call these little word games, and can you think of more? Bonus points for posting your favorite word play sites while your at it.
  • They are sometimes called dingbats, I believe. (There's a link at the top of the page for the answers) Not really a dingbat, but here's a blue horse puzzle.
  • I go to a pub quiz sometimes where one of the questions is like that. One example was: =f=i=r=s=t= (answers on a £50 note) There was a UK Tv quiz show called Catchphrase, where contestants had to guess the phrase in a similar way. Dingbats?
  • Since muteboy has mentioned the show, at last a chance to link to a Youtube clip of the infamous Catchphrase incident noted in his link. I laughed in the puerile fashion they decry.
  • > =f=i=r=s=t= A term often used to describe the british PM
  • Possibly, though this is T. Blair: 1R R R0

  • I thought rebus too balth, but then wondered if it was more a cartoon thing.
  • Well done, oh my Monkeyminions!! Get in line for the poptarts.
