Woman finds fingertip in salad CNN offbeat news reports with photo , that a woman in Ohio discovered a fingertip in her salad at a local burger joint. Can anyone spot it?? Maybe I'm blind, or need to eat more bananas, but I can't spot it.
  • Unless it looks like an onion ring, I don't see it either. I was hoping someone would point it out to me.
  • Well, maybe it was deep fried and looks like a crouton (or whatever they're called). Which is to say, I couldn't see it either. Not even after zooming in.
  • I don't think it's a photo of the actual finger-salad. The article says she had already eaten most of the salad, and the salad in the picture looks untouched. (Heh.)
  • Unless it's that small pink bit hiding beneath the onion? But I thought it was in her mouth, that lettuce doesn't look very chewed to me.
  • It's a Real GREEN THUMB! AAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! i'm so ashamed.
  • At first I thought it was that shadowy brown bit bifurcated by the onion ring, but then I realised that it had a green edge to it. Probably cucumber. Or something.
  • That's a stock photo. Apparently the news editors decided to draw a box in the image around nothing in particular to foment conversations exactly like this one.
  • Where does it say that this is a photo of the salad? It has a white box to suggest 'look closer' but there's no slideshow - and it's not a 'thumbnail' (heheheh) that loads a close-up or anything. Nothing in the text says 'photo at right' or such. I think this is just a crappy illustration that some semi-talent graphics person set with the story just to fill up space, as is normal with CNN et al. When they found the chook head in the KFC, there were photos and closeups galore.
  • I posted too slow. What ulotrichous said.
  • Chef leaves tip. Customer not pleased.
  • "Serving suggestion," y'know.
  • I saw this in the news before I got online. My thought at the time was "if they couldn't find the tip at the time that the employee reported it, why did they not just 'toss the salad'?"
  • Aaaargh!!! (collapse)
  • ew?
