Human Beatboxing. You have reached the most comprehensive website dedicated to the art of vocal percussion, aka beatboxing. Often cited as the 5th element of hip hop, beatboxing is fast becoming recognised as an art-form in its own right. You will find everything related to beatboxing right here on this website. These guys even got to Human Beatbox on Eastenders (Britain's most popular TV program). (Via Mr Biffo.com)

But then again, this is the true pursuit of champions.

  • Sucka MCs bow down to Beatbox Effex and Rahzel.
  • There's some good Rahzel tracks on the Audio page. That man truly is a genius.
  • There is a special spot reserved in both my heart and my bookmarks for beatboxing. There's the incredible video of Kenny Muhammad performing at Columbia University, a clip of MC Squared (hee!) performing on Live at the Apollo, and, though not strictly beatboxing, the a capella works of Dokaka, in which he simulates drums, among other things, with his voice (the cover of "Smells Like Teen Spirit" is banana-worthy). On a side note, forksclovetofu, I watched that video of Beatbox Effex, and if I'm not mistaken, that guy is guilty of some serious biting. He lifted almost everything he did in his set including and after the "ain't it funky" part nearly verbatim from Rahzel and Kenny Muhammad (the "if your mother only knew" part from the former, the "ain't it funky" part and the "wind technique" part (see dng's "Audio" link) from the latter). You can hear all three of those on the page that dng links to (see the clip titled "Rahzel & Kenny Muhammad Vs. DJ Skribble & DJ Slinky"), or listen to the last track of Rahzel's Make the Music 2000 all the way through. I mean, damn. He even said "This is the tricky part"! He's got talent; he just needs some creativity (or just a sense of artistic courtesy) to go with it.
  • Oh, and Kenny Muhammad's official website, including a spectacular video of him performing with the New York Philharmonic Orchestra.
  • Oh man, dng, those videos on the Drool Skool site are amazing. They did hardcore techno! I am thoroughly rocked out.
  • pmd: agreed. Hadn't heard that rahzel prior. White boy is a biter.
  • and i am SO stealing that video link. Spectacular. I love that the conductor starts swayin' with the beat.
  • Upon first glance, I thought this thread was about meatboxing. At which point I was expecting talk of cockpunching.
  • pmd- great video link!
