Art Face Off
A grassroots project bringing democracy to the world of art.
"As a global art community, we vote to choose the next great artists of our times. Our Face Off competitions are designed to promote all artists and encourage everyone to participate. We are different." Think you've got what it takes? Time to put up your dukes! Currently on the card.

If art was democratic, then Britney Spears would be a master of our time.

Great link sly, I exhausted this weeks votes.
-
If this was getting anything closer to democratic I might not have threw up a little bit in my mouth just now. Pretense aside, it looks like the two party system is still on masquerade.

Yeah I guess they could have posted all the pictures, and the voter could have ranked them.

Aside from the weighted-voting aspect (curators=40%, artists=30%, logged users=20%, random users=10%), the system doesn't seem particularly skewed to me. And during the face off, votes are not weighted at all. At least the rules are completely transparent (you know, unlike some other voting systems we know). (is this considered moderating my own thread? apologies if yes. i'll pipe down now.)
