The Uncoscious Art of Demolition
showcases the best in the architecture of absence, ghost buildings and demolition patchwork. Originally inspired by the work of Jose Antonio Millan.

Oh, man, I love those! I've always been really into the beauty that is decay, especially of abandoned buildings. I took some cool pictures last year of a transmission factory that's been abadoned near here, with nature taking it over one inch at at time. Great link!

And I got so carried away, I didn't even mention the element of absence in these pictures that is so amazingly striking.

Excellent link.

Gorgeous.

Hmm, a borderline self-link, but I'm most definitely willing to overlook that because it's simply an amazing photo set! Thanks for posting. This is something I'm glad exists, as I make such observations myself each day in NYC - and have always been fascianted by it. Thanks for sharing.

Ruins are fascinating, especially recent ones. You can hear the ghosts. There's an old middle school in our town that became disused in the early 1960's and was eventually turned into shops and offices. You can't see it quite so much in the downstaits shop, but in the offices upstairs it's like stepping into another world. A lot of the doors still have their original lettering, like the library and principal's office. I feel like I need a hall pass whenever I go to my doctor there.
