Curious George wants to play house. Idly thinking about Jan Smithers yesterday, I got to wondering: who was your childhood / pre-adolescent celebrity crush? Who did you want to play house with? Play doctor with? Cuddle up with and have them all for your very own?

We've sorta played this game before, but that were dead celebrities, and not restricted to those class of persons you were attracted to but would have had no idea why, much less what to do.

  • If you are a straight man over 30 and your answers do not start with Jan Smithers and Erin Grey, you are dead inside. Or foreign.
  • Vincent. Ok, ok, so strictly speaking, more the character, than the actor Ron Perlman. But still.... *wistful sigh*
  • Bo Derek.
  • Ellie May Clampett. I could'a tamed that filly.
  • Jenilee Harrison of Three's Company, and Judy Landers of B.J. and the Bear.
  • Martha Plimpton. Strange but true.
  • Kent McCord and Rick Springfield spring to mind, though there were others. Gomez Addams.
  • John Holmes.
  • Maybe your parents should ask your babysitter for their two dollars back, Koko.
  • In 1976, I was gah-gah for Jessica Lange.
  • Ahhh... Kristy McNichol
  • Catherine Bach, Kate Jackson, and a number of those already mentioned.
  • How do you mention Judy Landers without mentioning Audrey??? This is seriously freaky. *I* was thinking of Jan Smithers yesterday.
  • Why does anyone need to go any further than Jan Smithers? She's perfect.
  • Jan Smithers, Marcia Strassman, Amanda Pays, Patricia McPherson. I always had a thing for the hot smart girl.
  • Robert Wagner. Not just any Robert Wagner--Al Mundy in "It Takes a Thief." Seriously hot. Plus I had a weird "older man" thing for Eddie Albert in his "Green Acres" days. Interestingly, my sister was seated next to the very elderly Mr. Albert on a transatlantic flight about five years ago and told him about my crush, and he gave her a nice appreciative smile and a big thank you. Nice.
  • ... pre-adolesent celebrity crush ... Celebrities hadn't been invented back then.
  • When I was a kid I had a very hot sex dream about Jack Lord. Yes, Dan-o, Hawaii 5-0 Jack Lord. When I woke up I was sooo mortified and confused.
  • I liked Priscilla Barnes from Three's Company. She was the one who was the nurse.
  • I liked Priscilla Barnes from Three's Company. She was the one who was the nurse. Yeah three nipple lady from "Mallrats." I used to dig her too, but her hunched posture was always a turn off.
  • Mindy.
  • Erin Grey, of course, and every other 70s pinup the studios told me to want. DO NOT TURN OFF THE TV!! there is no way this can be bad, 'cause it feels so good
  • Angela Cartwright roryk, don't mean to hurt you, but I didn't need a crush on Catherine Bach -- I actually went out with her a couple of times in high school.
  • GET OUT, afj! ok, details.. & I MEAN DETAILS
  • *sobs* well, i guess i'dve been a bit young. good for you, afj!
  • *daydreams about teenage Catherine Bach*
  • *wonders if a volleyball team was involved*
  • Princess Leia. Dynagirl. Daphne. (Hmm... okay, so my tenuous-at-best grip on reality is not a recent development...)
  • Emma Peel
  • Nicola Bryant was always a favorite.
  • JoAnna Cameron (Isis) is probably the first I could name. Lynda Carter, Julie London (Nurse Dixie of Emergency), and Grace Nichols (aka Nichelle) would all appear on my top 5 list. who's missing? don't know yet and can't be bothered thinking about it anymore.
  • great link, pajamas.
  • Betty Rubble. Then, Jan Smithers. Today, it is Waylon Smithers.
  • I suppose I was a little too old myself for this to fall into the right category, but: Where's the love for Michelle Meyrink?
  • Mark from "Battle of the Planets," and Greg Evigan. And John Schneider. And then Maxwell Caulfield, of "Grease 2" (and only "Grease 2"), although by then I was technically pubescent, so I wasn't so much thinking about playing house as you know, really grown-up stuff like couple-skating.
  • Right here! I love Michelle Meyrink! [In the men's room] Jordan: Hi, good morning, I thought I saw you come in here, you must be an earlier riser, we met last night, I'm Jordan, remember? I made you a sweater. Mitch: Last night? Jordan: Yeah, it's just something I do with my hands while I'm reading. I hope I got the size right, I'm pretty sure I did, I have a brother so I use him as a sizing comparison, and I have a pretty good eye for that sort of thing, so I just went ahead and made you one because I was, you know, up. Are you peeing? Mitch: Yeah. Jordan: I never sleep. I don't know why. It drove my roommate nuts. I mean really nuts, they had to take her away in an ambulance and everything, she's okay now thought but she had to be transfer to an easier school but I don't know if that part has anything to do with being my fault, but still, anyway, if you ever want any help studying at night or just let me know, okay, 'cause I'm just a couple of doors down from you guys and I never sleep, okay? Mitch: Thanks, I will. Jordan: Are you finished? Mitch: I can't start. Jordan: Because I'm here? Mitch: I think so. Jordan: Weird. Well I have to go. Mitch: Me too.
  • Nellie on Little House on the Prairie.
  • I have to second afj on Angela Cartwright.
  • Followed by Lindsey Wagner, of course.
  • Janis Schmitt
  • ok, details.. & I MEAN DETAILS Just the usual stuff -- you know: quickies under the bleachers at the volleyball tournament, orgies with her and her twin sister, fellatio on the hood of the cheerleaders' convertible during the homecoming parade... Seriously, Cathy Bachman moved into town when she was a junior and I was a senior. We had a movie date and I took her to the Senior Kegger at graduation. When she became famous, someone had to tell me it was the same girl at our school. My other brush with fame was wandering into a pizza place with a couple friends and discovering the Huron High School cheerleading squad. We invited the six of them to a local dance and I spent most of the evening dancing with a very pretty blonde named Cheryl Jean Stoppelmoor. You know her today as Cheryl Ladd.
  • Bruce Banner, but not when he's angry. And my longest running crush: Remington Steele
  • Ah, how could I forget Mr. Steele? I used to tape the show and listen to him over and over, copying his accent.
  • For me it was Erin Gray. I have a good friend for whom it was Nell Carter.
  • When I was five, my older sisters, during a game of Truth or Dare, made me hump a lifesize poster of Donny Osmond they had in their room. I had a bit of a crush on him after that. A friend of mine had a huge crush on Teri Garr in the early 80's when he was about 12. I've never heard of anyone else who had the hots for Teri Garr!
  • Ever heard of David Letterman?
  • I should've clarified, I never heard of a pre-teen boy who had the hots for Teri Garr!
  • Mine was Tony Curtis. /moans gently
  • When I was 4 or 5, there was no contest - it was Roy Rogers. But, yeah, in my early teens, it was Tony Curtis, and in later teens, a huge crush on James Dean.
  • I should've clarified, I never heard of a pre-teen boy who had the hots for Teri Garr! Pfft. When she was Gary Seven's secretary on Star Trek, she was hot. Or in Young Frankenstein... what knockers.
  • path, I was more captivated by Trigger. Horses were my first love.
  • Cat Stevens. *swoon* I later grew to hate him for what he had become, vis-a-vis chauvinist attitude to women through religious control.
  • Oh, that would have been Linda Carter. Ah... yes. she. Mmmh.
  • I had a thing for Blair Warner (Lisa Welchel) on the Facts of life. I actually still have that thing, if she is reading this and would like to see it.
  • Hi bernockle! Welcome back!
  • Holy crap! Hi, bernockle!
  • At ease, gentlemen.
