• NZ is 19th, but down from 12th last year or whenever it was last done. I don't think anything has changed in NZ to move us down the rankings, so I assume the countries that have moved up have done good things about journalistic freedom. (The article spelled Turkmenbashi's name wrong.)

• Could be worse. Failure to possess the appropriate travel documents and permits can result in the traveler’s arrest and detention for multiple crimes, including illegal entry, publication of false information, and espionage. If convicted, sentences range from deportation to life in prison or the death penalty. I predict in five years, someone will make a movie about this and win an Oscar. And the lead actor and/or actress will feel the plight of the Sudanese.
