• If the US goes to war with Iran, Iran will win. The NeoConservative movement will be destroyed in utter failure. Democrats will gain control of the government for the next two decades. The carrier group steaming into the gulf is a bunch of sitting ducks for Sunburn carrier-killers, BrahMos & Yakhont cruise missiles launched by mobile carriers in the mountains overlooking the Persian Gulf. The Iranians will scuttle a few oil tankers & block the gulf. Then they will dump the petrodollar for the Euro as will most of OPEC. China & Russia will back Iran. Iranian troops will cross the border into Iraq & pin the US forces. The entire region will erupt. Checkmate. Game over. I've been drinking too much caffeine & playing Total War. Apologies.
• [Ahmadinejad] dismissed talk about possible war breaking out over the nuclear issue as nonsense, saying some people were making an unnecessary fuss about US naval ships reportedly sailing towards the region.
